Welcome!

Birch Community centre is a registered charity No,1151781.

Established for over 30 years  ago to help improve the leisure, recreation and education opportunities available in the neighbourhood.

A grant from Manchester City Council  helps towards the running of the centre.

For Children

During school term-time we host a number of children's projects: pre-school playgroup, parents & toddlers, After School Club, Scouts.

During school holidays we try to offer care schemes and play schemes.

For Adults

During school term-times we aim to host a wide choice of activities for recreation and leisure. These activities are mainly on weekday evenings but there are occasionally weekend and daytime choices.

Venue For Hire...

The community centre is available for private hire on Saturdays during school term-time between 9am and midnight. It is also sometime available on Sunday afternoons. Contact us for more information and to enquire about availability.



Birch Community Association AGM

Wednesday 14 November 7 pm, Birch Community Centre, Brighton Grove, Rusholme

Please come to hear about what has been happening at the centre since last year, plans for the future, to have an opportunity to see the BCC accounts and also to voice your opinions about the future plans, ask questions or make suggestions. We value your opinions and input and would love to welcome you all here on the 14th. Teas and coffees will be provided.


Birch Fundraiser on Saturday  17 November

Birch Fundraiser - performance, Saturday17th November 6.30 for 7.30pm  Come and join us at this special performance by Susie Miles.   All proceeds for Birch Community Centre.  "I am,  because you are" is a one woman show by Susie Miles and will be performed by her as a fundraiser for Birch. Susie lived in and travelled a round Africa for 12 years.  The play is an autobiographical performance which captures the absurdity and the paranoia generated by apartheid.   Doors open 6.30pm with a bar and food available. The performance will start at 7.30pm, is an hour long and will be followed by Q&A. Tickets are FREE for under 18s but do please reserve them if possible so we can judge numbers for catering.

In the 12 years that Susie lived in Swaziland, Lesotho and Mozambique she travelled through South Africa many times.

This drama captures the absurdity and the paranoia generated by apartheid.
